Purpose Statement
This article explains how to review locations submitted by Service Providers during the ITM reporting process. You can filter ITM Reports to identify locations requiring review, correct business name or address information, verify eligible locations, or reject locations that should not be approved.
This workflow helps maintain accurate location data while allowing reviewers to correct minor issues without requiring the Service Provider to restart the submission process.
Background Information
When a Service Provider submits an ITM Report for a location requiring review, the location appears in ITM Reports with an Address Status of Review Needed.
During the review process, you can:
- Edit the submitted business name or address before making an approval decision.
- Verify a location that belongs within your jurisdiction.
- Reject a location that cannot be approved, such as a location outside your jurisdiction, a duplicate, or a submission with issues that cannot be corrected through editing.
- Add a rejection reason and comments when a location is not approved.
Editing allows reviewers to correct location information without rejecting the submission and requiring it to go through the workflow again.
Important: Rejecting the location also rejects the associated ITM submission.
Required Permissions
The provided video and existing article do not identify the specific First Due permission names required to perform this workflow.
Users must have sufficient access to open ITM Reports and perform the location review actions described in this article. Confirm the applicable ITM and location review permissions for your organization's roles before assigning access.

- From the module stack, select ITM, then select ITM Reports.
Filter for Locations Requiring Review
- Open the report filters, scroll to Address Status, select Review Needed, and then select Apply Filters.
Open a Location for Review
- Review the filtered ITM submissions. Locations requiring review are identified by the building icon. Locate the applicable submission and select Review Place to open the location review modal.
Edit Business Information
- Review the submitted business name and address for errors. If changes are needed, select the Edit icon, update the applicable information, review your changes for accuracy, and select Save. Confirm that the Location information updated successfully message appears.
Verify the Location
- Confirm that the location is within your jurisdiction and that the business information is correct. Select Verify to approve the location.
Verifying the location confirms both the location and any business information changes made during the review.
Reject a Location
- If a location cannot be approved, open the applicable location for review and select Not Approved. Select the appropriate rejection reason, enter any applicable comments, and select Reject & Submit. Confirm that the system indicates the address information was not approved successfully.
Examples of locations that may require rejection include:
- Locations outside your jurisdiction.
- Duplicate locations.
- Locations with fundamental issues that cannot be corrected through editing.
Important: Rejecting the location also rejects the associated ITM submission.
Best Practices
- Use the Review Needed filter to focus on submissions requiring an approval decision.
- Review the business name and complete address before verifying a location.
- Correct fixable business name or address errors instead of rejecting an otherwise valid location.
- Confirm that a location is within your jurisdiction before selecting Verify.
- Use Not Approved when a location is outside your jurisdiction, is a duplicate, or contains issues that cannot be resolved through editing.
- Select the rejection reason that most accurately represents why the location cannot be approved.
- Add useful comments when rejecting a location to provide additional context.
- Review all edits before saving and verifying the location.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why don't I see the locations that require approval?
Verify that the Address Status filter is set to Review Needed, and then select Apply Filters.
How can I identify a location that requires review?
Locations requiring review are identified in the ITM Reports list by a building icon. Select Review Place to begin reviewing the location.
Do I need to reject a submission if the business name or address is incorrect?
Not necessarily. If the issue can be corrected through the available editing capability, select the Edit icon, update the information, and save your changes before making the approval decision.
What does verifying a location confirm?
Verification confirms that the location is within the AHJ's jurisdiction. If you edited the business information first, verification also confirms the updated location information being approved.
When should I select Not Approved?
Use Not Approved when the location cannot be approved, such as when it is outside your jurisdiction, is a duplicate, or has fundamental issues that cannot be corrected through editing.
Can I explain why a location was rejected?
Yes. After selecting Not Approved, select the applicable rejection reason and enter comments as needed before selecting Reject & Submit.
What happens to the ITM submission when I reject its location?
Rejecting the location also rejects the associated ITM submission.
