The Customizable Label feature for the US Mail Component allows administrators and form builders to add personalized text labels to mailing address fields within forms. This feature is available in both the Inspections Module and Invoicing Module Form Builders. The customizable label supports up to 50 characters and accepts alphanumeric characters, spaces, and special characters, providing flexibility for departments to create clear, context-specific address field labels. This enhancement improves form usability by allowing departments to use terminology that aligns with their specific workflows and processes.

Required Permissions

  • Form Builder access permissions for Inspections Module or Invoicing Module
  • Edit permissions for existing forms (if modifying existing forms)
  • Create permissions for new forms (if creating new forms)

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Click on Inspections and then Form Builder List.

 
2. Click Create Form or Edit.

3. For a new Form, make the Form usable for an Inspection Report or Inspection Reminder.
 
  1. The Template Category cannot be changed once a Form is saved.
     
  2. This step does not apply to the Invoicing Form Builder.

Q: Can I change the Template Category after saving a form? 

A: No, the Template Category cannot be changed once a Form is saved. You would need to create a new form with the correct template category.

Q: What happens if I exceed the 50-character limit? 

A: The system will prevent you from entering more than 50 characters. Trim your label text to fit within this limit.

Q: Are there any restricted characters I cannot use? 

A: The system supports alphanumeric characters, spaces, and common special characters (!@#$%^&*()). Avoid using characters that may interfere with form functionality.

Q: Will the customizable label appear on printed forms? 

A: Yes, the customizable label will appear on both digital and printed versions of the form.

Q: Can I use the same customizable label across multiple forms? 

A: Each form requires individual configuration, but you can use the same label text across multiple forms by entering it manually in each form's US Mail component.
