Shift Board: Managing Sign-Up Requests

Purpose Statement

To explain how to approve or deny sign-up requests on the Shift Board. This process ensures vacancies are properly filled and that only authorized personnel are assigned to open shifts.

Background Information

When personnel sign up for open vacancies on the Shift Board, their requests must be reviewed and either approved or denied by an authorized user.

Approving a sign-up places the user directly into the vacancy on the Shift Board. Denying a sign-up removes the request and clears the vacancy for other eligible personnel.

This workflow supports proper staffing levels, maintains scheduling accuracy, and ensures compliance with department policies related to overtime and shift coverage.

Required Permissions

The following permissions are required to approve or deny sign-up requests:

  • Scheduling – Access Scheduling
