Swapping Users on the Shift Board

The Switch Employee function allows administrators or authorized scheduling personnel to quickly exchange two users’ positions without manually deleting and reassigning shifts. This improves efficiency and preserves assignment integrity within the schedule.

The Switch Employee feature is used when two personnel need to exchange assigned positions on a scheduled shift. This is commonly used for:

The swap occurs instantly and updates both users’ positions on the Shift Board.
Users must have appropriate Scheduling permissions to modify the Shift Board.

- Scheduling – Can edit self from shift board (if applicable)

Step-by-Step Guide
Access the Shift Board
- Click the First Due logo
- Select Scheduling
- Click Shift Board
Initiate the Switch
- Locate one of the users you want to swap
- Right-click on the user’s name
- Select Switch Employee

Select the Second User
- The scheduling panel will change to indicate Switch Employee
- Click on the second user who will be exchanging positions

Execute the Switch
- Click Switch
- Review the selection
- Click Switch again to confirm


Verify the Swap
- The two users will immediately exchange positions on the Shift Board
- Confirm assignments are correct
