Updating Your User Profile: Settings
This feature allows users to personalize their First Due account by updating personal information, security credentials, and system preferences. Managing your user settings ensures accurate contact information, secure access, and a customized experience tailored to your workflow needs.
User settings in First Due provide a centralized location for managing your account profile, security settings, and system preferences. These settings affect how you interact with the platform, how others can contact you, and where you begin your work session. Keeping this information current is essential for system security, proper notifications, and efficient navigation within the platform.
Required Permissions

- Users must know their current password/PIN to make security changes
Step 1: Access User Settings
- Locate your name in the upper right hand corner of the First Due interface
- Click on your name to open the user menu
- The User Settings page will display
- Click the "Edit" button to modify your email address
- Add or update your phone number in the designated field
- If you are marked as an inspector, add your Inspector Phone number in the appropriate field
Step 3: Customize Your Profile Image
- Locate the profile image section
- Click "Upload" to select an image from your device
- Choose an appropriate professional image
- Confirm the image upload
- Navigate to the signature section
Choose your preferred signature method:
- Digital Signature: Click the pencil icon to draw your signature
- Upload Signature: Select "Image/Signature" to upload a signature file
- Click "Confirm" when satisfied with your signature
Step 5: Set Your Landing Page Preference
- Locate the Landing Page dropdown menu
- Select your preferred starting location when logging into First Due
- This determines where you'll be directed after successful login
Step 6: Change Your Password
- Click "Change Password"
- Enter your current password in the "Old Password" field
- Type your new password in the "New Password" field
- Confirm your new password by retyping it in the confirmation field
- Click "Save" to update your password
Step 7: Update Your PIN
- Click "Edit" in the PIN section
- Enter your current PIN in the "Old PIN" field
- Type your new PIN in the "New PIN" field
- Confirm your new PIN by retyping it in the confirmation field
Click "Save" to update your PIN
- Note: PIN is used for time clock functions within the Scheduling module and Medication module
Step 8: Save All Changes
- After making all desired updates, click "Save" in the upper right hand corner
- Wait for confirmation that your settings have been updated successfully

- Update your contact information immediately when it changes to ensure you receive important notifications
- Use a strong, unique password that combines letters, numbers, and special characters
- Choose a memorable but secure PIN that differs from common combinations
- Select a landing page that aligns with your primary daily tasks for maximum efficiency
- Upload a professional profile image to help colleagues identify you in the system
- Keep your signature current, especially if used for official documentation
- Review and update your settings quarterly to ensure accuracy
- Never share your password or PIN with other users
Q: I forgot my current password. How can I change it? A: You can utilize the Forgot Password feature when logging in or reach out to an administrator.
Q: Why can't I see the Inspector Phone number field? A: This field only appears if you are designated as an inspector in the system. Contact your administrator if you should have inspector status.
Q: My signature won't save properly. What should I do? A: Ensure your signature image is in a supported format (JPG, PNG) and is under the maximum file size limit. Try clearing your browser cache if issues persist.
Q: How often should I change my password? A: Follow your department's security policy, but generally every 60-90 days is recommended.
Q: What happens if I enter the wrong current password/PIN? A: The system will not allow the change. You must enter the correct current credentials to update them.
