Swapping Equipment When An Apparatus is Placed Out of Service

Purpose

  1. The purpose of this article is to inform users how to utilize First Due's swap feature to relocate equipment when an apparatus is placed out of service.  
Idea:  The apparatus swap feature is a useful tool to allow users to relocate equipment quickly and efficiently from an apparatus that is being placed out of service to a replacement apparatus when performing an apparatus swap.

Directions


1. Click on Assets.

2. Click on Apparatus Checks.

3. Locate the apparatus that is being placed out of service.

4. Click the toggle in the Apparatus Overview to toggle the apparatus out of service.

5. A modal will pop up to give the following options: Swap, Relocate, or Update Status Only.





Info:  The functionality for each option is as follows:
  1. Update Status Only - Selecting this option will place the selected apparatus out of service and will leave all equipment assigned to the out of service apparatus.
  2. Swap - The swap feature allows users to relocate equipment from the out of service apparatus directly to another apparatus. 
  3. Relocate - The relocate feature allows users to relocate equipment from the out of service apparatus to storage locations as well as other apparatus. (Skip to step 15 to view the Relocate feature)


6. To swap equipment to a replacement apparatus, click on Swap.

7. Select the Apparatus that the equipment will be relocated to.

8. Click on Continue.

9. To swap the contents of an entire compartment, select the compartment by clicking the box to the left of the compartment name.







10. To swap specific pieces of equipment, expand the compartment by clicking the expansion icon and select the specific pieces of equipment to relocate.

Note:  Inventory items of the same type, with different expiration dates, are listed separately.







11. Select the compartment that the selected equipment will be swapped to.






12. Once a destination compartment has been selected, click the blue directional arrow to relocate the equipment.

13. When finished, click Continue.

14. If there are additional locations that equipment is to be moved to, click the Continue Transferring button. Otherwise, click Save and Finish.

Note: The Continue Transferring button has the same functionality as the Relocate button. It allows equipment to be relocated to locations other than apparatus compartments.





15. Select the location that the equipment is to be relocated to.

16. Select the storage room to relocate the equipment to.

17. Select the equipment that is to be transferred.







18. Click the blue directional arrow to relocate the equipment.

19. Click on Continue to complete the relocation.

20. When complete, click Save and Finish.
