EMS Setup - Certification Levels

EMS Setup - Certification Levels

Purpose Statement

  1. This article demonstrates how to set a user's EMS certification level in order to make the user available for ePCR documentation and ensure NEMSIS compliance requirements are met.

Background Information

  1. EMS certification levels are critical components for ePCR documentation as they determine which personnel can be assigned to incidents and what level of care documentation is required. The system requires both an EMS practice level and current licensure information to make users eligible for ePCR documentation.
  2. NEMSIS standards mandate that all personnel involved in patient care must have their certification levels properly documented. This information affects care level validation, scope of practice verification, and compliance reporting. Without proper certification level setup, users cannot be selected for ePCR assignments.

Required Permissions

To complete this task, users need the following First Due permissions:

Admin - User

  • Read
  • Update

EMS Setup - Manage

  • Allow

These permissions ensure users can access the Personnel module, modify user information, and configure NEMSIS-related data for ePCR eligibility.
