Setting Up Mobile App Unit Times to Auto-Populate Fire Incident Unit Times

Setting Up Mobile App Unit Times to Auto-Populate Fire Incident Unit Times

Purpose

  1. To explain how to set up the system to auto-populate Fire Incident unit times from mobile app unit status changes.

Background

  1. If you are using First Due's Mobile app to capture responding units' times (via the mobile app's status buttons), you can now enable unit status changes to auto-populate fire incident times. This saves time when completing an incident report.

NOTE:  This feature applies to incident reports in the "Not Started" status in the Incident Documentation Module.
Also, unit times that come from CAD take priority over unit times that come from the Unit Times in the Mobile App.
*CAD will need to send the Unit Code*

You will need to contact your Client Success Manager or Support to have them turn on "Unit Status Times populating into NFIRS"

Process

  1. The first step is to configure the Responder Status buttons to "map" mobile app times to fire response times. Navigate to Response > Setup > Responder Status.

  2. From the Responder Status dropdown, select the mobile app statuses you wish to map to NFIRS.

  3. If desired, you can rename the mobile app buttons to align with your agency's jargon.

  4. Next, for each mobile app status you wish to map to Fire, select the corresponding Fire response time

  5. Select Save. Nice job!

IMPORTANT: In order for this feature to work, each unit (apparatus) MUST be associated with a user. In this case, the user is an apparatus, not a person. In other words, when a mobile device is used for an apparatus for response, the user is logged in as an apparatus. To create a apparatus-based user, please see this KBA (Step 5).

  6. Next, navigate to Assets > Apparatus List.

  7. Select to edit an apparatus.

  8. In the Apparatus Information section, scroll down to the User field. Select the user that will be associated with this apparatus. This should be a "apparatus" user, not a "personnel" user.

  9. Select Save. That's it! Anytime that apparatus enters status changes in the mobile app, mapped statuses will auto-populate the selected Fire incident times for that unit.
