Purpose Statement
The EMS Homepage allows field providers to configure their unit, device, and crew for an entire shift, enabling automatic population of key information when creating ePCRs. This reduces repetitive data entry, improves efficiency, and streamlines documentation during active operations.
Background Information
Field providers frequently respond to multiple incidents during a shift, often using the same unit, monitor device, and crew. Without shift-based configuration, users must repeatedly enter or filter this information for each new incident.
The EMS Homepage solves this by:
- Centralizing shift-specific setup in one location
- Automatically applying configuration to new incidents
- Streamlining CAD and monitor workflows
This feature is especially valuable for high-call-volume agencies where speed and accuracy are critical.
Required Permissions
- Access to Incident Documentation
- Permission to view and use the EMS Homepage
- Permission to Create New Incidents (ePCRs)
- (Optional) CAD Integration Access (if using CAD import)
- (Optional) Device/Monitor Integration Access
Note: If the EMS Homepage is not visible, contact your system administrator to enable permissions.

Best Practices
- Set your shift configuration at the start of every shift to avoid repeated edits
- Verify crew members before creating incidents to ensure accurate reporting
- Use CAD pre-filtering to reduce manual search and selection time
- Avoid changing configuration mid-incident unless necessary
- Leverage tablet mode for faster field interaction
