Purpose Statement
The Unit Update Reversal function allows authorized users to revert or finalize apparatus unit updates performed in the Swap menu within the Assets module. This ensures agencies can correct mistakes or finalize apparatus configuration changes after a unit update has been performed.
Reversing a unit update restores the previous apparatus configuration, while closing a unit update permanently applies the changes made during the update.
Background Information
Within the Assets module, the Swap → Unit Updates area maintains a history of apparatus unit update actions performed by your agency. These updates track temporary or permanent changes made to apparatus assignments or configurations.
Each unit update record will display its status:
Open – The update has been performed but not finalized.
Reverted – The update has been reversed and the previous configuration restored.
This is final and cannot be undone.
Administrators or authorized users can review these records and determine whether the update should remain in place, be reversed, or be finalized.
Common use cases include:
Correcting an incorrect unit update
Reverting temporary apparatus swaps
Finalizing apparatus configuration changes after operational testing
Required Permissions
To perform this workflow, users must have permissions that allow them to:
View Unit Update History
Reverse Unit Updates
These permissions are typically assigned by your agency administrator within the Assets module permissions settings.
