Enhancements
Daily Operations – Bulk Delete Entries
- What - Bulk delete functionality has been added to the Daily Operations list view, allowing users to select and delete multiple entries at the same time. A new checkbox column enables bulk selection, and a trash can action becomes available when entries are selected, providing a faster and more efficient way to manage Daily Operations records.
- Why - Managing daily operational records can involve correcting or removing multiple entries at once. Previously, entries had to be deleted individually, which increased effort and slowed cleanup tasks. Bulk delete improves efficiency while maintaining clear user control over which records are removed.
- How -
- Navigate to Events & Activities → Daily Operations.
- Ensure you are in the List View and not in Passdown mode.
- Use the checkbox column on the left side of the list to select one or more entries.
- Once entries are selected, the Trash Can icon becomes active.
- Select the Trash Can icon and confirm the deletion.
- Note: When Passdown mode is active, the checkbox column is labeled Passdown Entries and is used for Passdown selection rather than deletion.
Use Case - After reviewing a shift’s activity, a supervisor identifies several test or duplicate entries that were logged in error. Instead of removing each one individually, they select all applicable entries in the Daily Operations list and delete them in a single action, quickly restoring an accurate operational record.
Daily Operations – New List View Columns for Description and Created By
- What - Two new selectable columns, Description and Created By, have been added to the Daily Operations list view to improve visibility and reporting. The Description field, previously only available in the detail view, can now be displayed directly in the list, while the new Created By column identifies who created each Event or Daily Log entry. All selected columns are now also included in spreadsheet exports.
- Why - Quick access to key context and accountability information helps users review, validate, and report on operational activity more efficiently. Making the Description and Created By fields available in the list view reduces the need to open individual records and supports clearer reporting and data exports.
- How -
- Navigate to Events & Activities → Daily Operations → List View.
- Select the Column Selector.
- Enable Description and/or Created By.
- The list view updates to display:
- Description – text entered in the entry’s description field.
- Created By – the user who created the entry.
- When generating a PDF Passdown, the Description field is included while Created By is excluded.
- When exporting to a spreadsheet, all selected columns, including Description and Created By, are included.
Use Case - A shift supervisor reviews the Daily Operations list to quickly scan detailed descriptions of events without opening each record and confirms who created each entry for follow-up questions. When exporting the data for reporting, both columns are included in the spreadsheet, providing clearer context and accountability for operational review.
Events – Updated Recurrence Dropdown Options
What - The recurring event frequency options in the Events & Activities module have been updated to provide clearer, more standardized recurrence selections. The custom recurrence dropdown now includes Custom, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, and Annually, improving consistency when scheduling recurring events. Existing weekly recurrence patterns have been preserved through automatic data migration.
Why - Clear and consistent recurrence options reduce confusion when creating and managing recurring events. Standardizing these selections makes it easier to understand event schedules at a glance while ensuring existing recurring events continue to function as expected.
How -
Navigate to Events & Activities → Events.
Create or edit an event and enable Recurrence.
Select a recurrence option from the updated dropdown: Custom, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, or Annually.
For weekly patterns, use Custom to define the appropriate schedule.
Note: Events previously set to options like “Every Monday” or “Every Friday” have been automatically migrated to Custom with the same weekly recurrence behavior.
Use Case - An administrator schedules a quarterly inspection event using the Quarterly recurrence option for consistent, standardized scheduling. At the same time, previously created weekly events continue to run without interruption under the Custom setting, ensuring no loss of scheduling accuracy or historical data.
Events & Activities – Apparatus Display Configuration Option
What - A new configuration option has been added that allows administrators to choose whether Apparatus Name or Apparatus Dispatch Unit is displayed throughout the Events & Activities module. This setting controls how apparatus information appears on both the Events and Daily Log pages, aligning display behavior with other modules.
Why - Different organizations reference apparatus in different ways, either by physical apparatus name or by dispatch call sign. Providing a configurable display option improves clarity, reduces confusion, and ensures consistency with how apparatus information is presented across Training and Incidents.
How -
Navigate to Events & Activities → Setup → General.
Locate the Display Associated Apparatus by: dropdown.
Select one of the following options:
Apparatus Name – displays the physical apparatus name.
Apparatus Dispatch Unit – displays the dispatch unit or call sign (e.g., Engine 1).
The selected option is automatically applied to:
Events creation and editing pages.
Daily Log displays.
Note: This setting follows the same configuration pattern used in the Training and Incidents modules.
Use Case - An organization that primarily references units by call sign updates the configuration to display Apparatus Dispatch Unit. From that point forward, users see familiar unit identifiers when logging events or reviewing Daily Logs, improving clarity during daily operations and reporting.
Bug Fixes
Daily Operations – Station and Shift Display in List View
- What - An issue has been resolved where the Station and Shift fields were not displaying in the Daily Operations list view, even when those fields were populated on Daily Log entries. These fields now appear correctly in the list view, providing full visibility into daily log details without opening individual records.
- Why - Station and Shift information are critical for understanding when and where daily log entries were created. When these fields were not visible, users had to open each entry to confirm context, slowing reviews and increasing the chance of missed information during shift transitions.
- How -
- Navigate to Events & Activities → Daily Operations → List View.
- Review Daily Log entries that include Station and Shift information.
- When populated, Station and Shift now display directly in the list view.
- Note: No configuration changes or user action are required for this fix to take effect.
- Use Case - A supervisor reviewing multiple Daily Log entries can now immediately identify the station and shift associated with each entry from the list view, allowing for faster validation, clearer reporting, and smoother shift-to-shift continuity.
Daily Operations – Users Unable to Edit Their Own Daily Log Entries
- What - An issue has been resolved where users with the Create and Edit Daily Log permission were unable to edit their own Daily Log entries unless they also had the Edit Daily Log All Users permission. The edit option now correctly displays for users editing their own entries based on their assigned permissions.
- Why - Users who create Daily Log entries need the ability to correct or update their own records without requiring elevated permissions. This fix restores expected permission behavior, ensuring appropriate access while maintaining controls for editing other users’ entries.
- How -
- Navigate to Events & Activities → Daily Operations.
- Open a Daily Log entry you created.
- If you have the Create and Edit Daily Log permission, the Edit option is now available.
- Editing entries created by other users still requires the Edit Daily Log All Users permission.
- Note: No permission changes are required if users already have the correct role assigned.
- Use Case - A field officer reviews a Daily Log entry they created earlier in the shift and notices a minor correction is needed. With this fix in place, they can edit their own entry directly without needing additional permissions, while supervisors retain control over editing entries created by others.
Activities Calendar – Shift Color Display Inconsistencies
What - An issue has been resolved where the shift color band at the top of the Activities Calendar was displaying inconsistently and did not always match the configured Shift Calendar. The color band now reliably reflects the correct shift color across all calendar interactions.
Why - Shift colors provide an important visual reference for understanding daily coverage and scheduling. Inconsistent color display created confusion and reduced confidence in calendar accuracy. This fix ensures a dependable, at-a-glance view of shift assignments.
How -
Navigate to Events & Activities → Activities Calendar.
View the top color band displayed for each date.
The shift color now matches the configured Shift Calendar on initial load.
Navigating in and out of the calendar or adding events no longer changes the displayed color.
Note: No user action or configuration changes are required for this fix.
Use Case - A supervisor reviewing the Activities Calendar can now trust that the shift color shown for each day accurately reflects the scheduled shift, even after adding events or navigating between views, supporting clearer planning and operational awareness.
