Purpose Statement
This article explains how to print, download, or email a Fire Incident Report from the Incident Documentation module.
Users can generate a report for internal review, public disclosure, training, or documentation purposes. Report options allow users to include or redact specific information before printing, downloading, or emailing the report.
Background Information
Fire Incident Reports can be accessed from the Fire Incident List within the Incident Documentation module. Reports may be printed individually or in bulk, depending on the user’s workflow.
When generating a report, users can choose from available report types, including standard reports, full data reports, and public disclosure reports. Before sharing or printing the report, users can apply report options such as redacting personally identifiable information, provider names, narratives, or incident identifiers.
This workflow is commonly used for:
- Reviewing completed incident documentation
- Providing reports to approved recipients
- Preparing redacted reports for training
- Downloading or printing reports for agency records
- Generating public disclosure versions of reports
Required Permissions
Users must have access to the Incident Documentation module and the Fire Incident List.
Permission requirements may vary by agency configuration. Confirm that the user has the appropriate permissions to:
- View fire incidents
- Access fire incident reports
- Print or export incident reports
- Email incident reports, if applicable
Note: Permission names may vary based on the agency’s configuration. If a user cannot access the Fire Incident List, printer icon, report options, or email function, an administrator should review their role and permission settings.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why are my redaction settings not showing on the report?
After selecting redaction options, select the Refresh button. The report will not update until the selected options are refreshed.
Can I email the report to more than one person?
Yes. Multiple email addresses can be entered in the email field.
Why can’t I see the printer icon?
Your user role may not have the required permissions to print or export Fire Incident Reports. Contact an administrator to review your Incident Documentation permissions.
Why did the report open in a new tab?
Fire Incident Reports open in a new browser tab so users can review, configure, email, print, or download the report without leaving the Fire Incident List.
What report type should I choose?
Use the report type that matches the intended purpose. For routine internal review, use the Standard Incident Report. For public records or disclosure requests, use the appropriate Public Disclosure Report based on agency policy.
What is the redacted training option used for?
The option to redact incident identifiers can be used when preparing reports for training, such as tailboard training or kitchen table exercises, where incident details should not identify a specific response.
