Purpose Statement
This article explains where to find First Due API documentation and which resources to use when setting up or working with an API connection.
First Due API documentation is available at developer.firstdue.com.
First Due Developer Documentation
First Due maintains its technical API documentation on a dedicated developer site rather than within the First Due Knowledge Base.
Use developer.firstdue.com when you need information about available API endpoints, required permissions for those endpoints, or other technical information for working with the First Due API.
The developer site is publicly accessible and does not require a separate login.
API User Setup
The API User Setup article remains available in the Admin Setup section of the First Due Knowledge Base.
Use that article when you need instructions for:
- Enabling API access for a First Due user.
- Generating an API token.
- Copying, regenerating, or removing an existing API token.
- Reviewing API token status and expiration information.
API tokens work with the permissions assigned to the associated First Due user. The user's role-based permissions determine which API data and endpoints the integration can access.
Once API access and the API token have been configured, use developer.firstdue.com for API endpoint documentation and technical usage information.
Which Resource Should I Use?
I need to enable API access or create an API token.
See API User Setup in the Admin Setup section of the First Due Knowledge Base.
I need information about available API endpoints or how to use the API.
Go to developer.firstdue.com.
I already have an API token and am building or maintaining a connection.
Use developer.firstdue.com as the primary resource for First Due API documentation.
