Purpose Statement
The Hydrant Service Results canned report allows users to review hydrant service records within a selected date range or hydrant zone. Users can view the results in First Due, adjust the number of records displayed, move between result pages, and export the report as a CSV file for additional analysis or recordkeeping.
Background Information
Canned reports are prebuilt reports available within the Reports module. The canned reports displayed for an agency generally correspond to the First Due modules the agency uses.
The Hydrants category contains the Hydrant Service Results report. This report provides an output of completed hydrant service records and can be filtered by service date and hydrant zone.
Some First Due modules may not include canned reports. Data for those modules may instead be available through First Due Reports, also referred to as FDRs.
Required Permissions
Users must have access to the following areas:
- Reports module
- Hydrants canned reports
- Hydrant service data
Permission names and access levels may vary based on the user profiles configured by the agency. Contact a First Due administrator if the Reports module, Hydrants category, Advanced Search button, or CSV download option is not available.

- Select the appropriate date range before exporting the report to avoid downloading unnecessary records.
- Use the Hydrant Zone filter when reviewing service activity for a specific response area, district, or maintenance zone.
- Review the filtered results before downloading the CSV file.
- Use consistent hydrant zone names to improve filtering and reporting accuracy.
- Avoid using an unnecessarily broad date range when only recent service activity is required.
- Confirm that hydrant service records have been completed and saved before expecting them to appear in the report.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why do I not see the Hydrants category under canned reports?
Confirm that your agency uses the Hydrants module and that your user profile has access to the applicable Reports and Hydrants functions. Contact a First Due administrator if the category remains unavailable.
Why do I only see one report under Hydrants?
The Hydrant Service Results report may be the only canned report available for the Hydrants module. Other report categories may contain multiple reports that can be expanded and selected.
Why are some expected service records missing?
Review the selected Service Date and Hydrant Zone filters. Clear or expand the filters, select Search, and review the updated results. Also confirm that the hydrant service records were completed and saved.
Why did the report results change after selecting Search?
Selecting Search applies the parameters entered under Advanced Search. The report refreshes to include only records matching the selected date range, hydrant zone, or both.
Does changing the results-per-page setting change the exported report?
The results-per-page setting controls how many records are displayed on each screen. Review the downloaded CSV file to confirm that it contains the expected filtered records.
Why can I not download the CSV file?
Confirm that your user profile has the appropriate report access. Also verify that your browser allows file downloads from First Due.
Can I filter by both date and hydrant zone?
Yes. Select a Service Date range and a Hydrant Zone, and then select Search to display records matching both parameters.
