Purpose Statement
The Business Portal allows service providers to view, copy, and reuse previous ITM comments when updating a system's compliance status. This feature helps reduce duplicate data entry while maintaining important formatting, including bullets, numbered lists, paragraphs, bold text, and italics.
Users can also review comment history to understand previous communication and identify who submitted each comment.
Background Information
When an ITM report has been submitted to the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), service providers may need to provide additional information or update the system's compliance status.
Instead of manually re-entering information from an earlier comment, the Insert Previous Comment option allows users to bring an existing comment into the current comment field and build upon it.
The History option provides additional context by displaying previous communication between the Business Portal user and the AHJ. Comments originating from the Business Portal are identified with BP.
Required Permissions
The transcript does not identify the specific permissions required to use this feature.
Users must have access to the appropriate Business Portal account and the ITM report or system they need to update. If you are unable to view or update the applicable record, contact your organization's administrator to verify your access.

- Review the previous comment before reusing it to ensure the information is still accurate and relevant.
- Use Insert Previous Comment when existing information can be reused instead of manually recreating the comment.
- Add new details to the inserted comment when additional context is needed.
- Preserve formatting when it makes comments easier for the AHJ to review, particularly for lists or detailed explanations.
- Review History before submitting an update when you need context about previous communication.
- Verify the system's Resolved or Not Resolved status before submitting.
- Confirm that the necessary attachment has been added before selecting Update and Submit.
- Avoid submitting an old comment without reviewing and updating information that may have changed.
