Purpose Statement
The Kit List provides a centralized view for managing all kits within the Assets module. Kits typically represent deployable groupings of equipment (e.g., EMS bags, rope kits, water rescue kits) that can be quickly assigned and used during emergency incidents. This feature enables users to efficiently search, filter, update, and manage kit records to maintain operational readiness and accountability.
Background Information
Kits are commonly configured as portable collections of equipment that function similarly to a duffel bag—allowing responders to grab and deploy them independently during incidents.
The Kit List is designed to:
- Provide visibility into all kits and their current status
- Support quick updates and management of kit records
- Enable filtering and searching for fast access in high-tempo environments
Key Notes:
- Kits are typically discarded when no longer usable; archiving is no longer supported
- Permissions for accessing, updating status, and managing kits are separate and must be configured accordingly
- Additional workflows such as custom views and importing kits via CSV are covered in separate articles
Required Permissions
To fully utilize the Kit List, users may require the following permissions:
- Assets Module Access
- View Kits
- Create Kits
- Edit Kits
- Delete Kits
- Bulk Operations (Delete)
- Import Data (for CSV import functionality)
Permission configurations may vary by agency role (e.g., admin vs. field user).
