Purpose Statement
Exclusion Rules allow agencies to automatically exclude personnel from specific Call Shifts or Mandatory assignments based on configured Time Off conditions. Rules can use a defined hour buffer surrounding a Time Off entry or require a qualifying Work Type or Time Off Type to appear on the Shift Board before the individual can be reached.
Background Information
Exclusion Rules are configured within Scheduling → Setup → Time Off Settings → Exclusion Rules.
An Exclusion Rule can apply to:
- Call Shifts
- Mandatory assignments
- Both Call Shifts and Mandatory assignments
Two exclusion modes are available:
- Hour Buffer: Automatically excludes personnel based on a fixed number of hours before or after a selected Time Off Type.
- Type Specific: Prevents personnel from being reached for Call Shifts or Mandatory assignments unless a qualifying Work Type or approved Time Off Type appears on the schedule.
