Work Orders: Modifying an Existing Work Order

Purpose

  1. The purpose of this article is to inform users how to make modifications/changes to and existing work order for an apparatus, station, equipment item, or kit in the First Due Assets Module.

Directions

There are three locations to modify/edit a work order.  They are as follows:


From the apparatus, equipment, station, or kit checks view


1. Click on Assets.

2. Click on the appropriate checks view for the Apparatus, Equipment, Station, or Kit that the work order applies to.


Click on the Appropriate Checks view for the Apparatus, Equipment, Station, or Kit that the work order is to be started on.



3. Once the Apparatus, Equipment, Station, or Kit is selected. Locate the appropriate work order within the Work Order view and click on the edit icon in the Actions column.

From the Work Order Board in the Assets module


1. Work orders can also be managed by clicking on Work Order Boards in the Assets Module.

2. Select the appropriate work order board and locate the appropriate work order tile on the work order board.

Note:  The work order tile position can be easily changed by clicking on the work order tile and dragging it to its new position. 

3. Click on edit the edit icon in the work order tile.

From the Work Order History.


1. Click on Work Order History in the First Due Assets module.



Work Orders can also be edited in the Work Order History.



2. Locate the work order that is to be modified.

3. Click on the edit icon in the Actions column.

4. The Info tab allows users to change the general work order information. The work order board, status, type, and assignment can all be managed from within this tab.

5. The Cost tab allows users to financial costs associated with the work order.  Parts and Inventory used can also be itemized for the work order. 





6. The Comments tab allows users to add comments to the work order.

7. The History tab displays a historical log of the work order's progression.

8. When all edits or modifications are complete. Click on Save.
