Purpose Statement

  • Provide users with a clear understanding of the Seven-Day View on the Shift Board.

  • This feature allows users to see staffing and unassigned shifts for an entire week, enabling proactive scheduling decisions and operational planning.

  • The Seven-Day View displays scheduled personnel, and apparatus assignments over a rolling seven-day period.

  • Access Scheduling β€“ to enter the Scheduling module

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Click on Scheduling > Shift Board.


2. Click on 7 Days.


Click on 7 Days.


3. In the upper left-hand corner you can:
  1. Expand the assignments. This allows for Admin to make changes as needed.
  2. Collapse the vacancies on the shift board. 
  3. Search for a User, Qualifier, Rank, Group, or District.



4. The Date Functions allow you to:
  • Click the arrows to jump Week by Week. 
  • Or, click the calendar to jump farther in advance. 
  • When you are off of the current week, the Today button will turn blue, allowing you to rapidly return to the current week.



5. The filters allow you to:
  1. Boards: These are pre-saved views that limit which assignments appear.
  2. Assignments: This allows you to choose which assignments will appear.
  3. Rotations: This allows you to filter down to a particular Rotation.



6. The assignments appear down the left, with the users down the right. The colors at the top are the rotations on that particular day.

  • βœ… Do:

    • βœ”οΈ Review the Seven-Day View at least weekly to identify coverage gaps early.

    • βœ”οΈ Monitor unassigned slots proactively to initiate backfills before shift day.

  • ❌ Don’t:

    • βœ–οΈ Assume all shifts are staffed without reviewing each day thoroughly.
