Major Releases

  1. Invoicing: Online Payments
    1. Departments can now send an email with an invoice link that includes all invoice line items.
    2. The resident / business owner can pay the invoice directly from the email link, and the invoice will be automatically updated in First Due to reflect payment status.
    3. Residents / business owners do not need to register or log in to view or pay the invoice.
    4. Interested clients should contact their Client Success Manager for more information on this new feature.
  2. Third party integration of Unit Location data via API.
    1. Interested clients can now work with their CAD vendor to pull live First Due location data into their CAD system by hitting a new external-facing endpoint. Contact your Client Success Manager for more details if interested in this feature.
  3. Major Changes coming to First Due Academy classes.
    1. The following sessions have been added to the schedule
      1. Mobile Response 201
      2. Training / Activities / Hydrants 101
      3. Training / Activities / Hydrants 301

Assets Module


  1. New Features:
    1. New question type options for updating record fields
      1. New response type: "field update"
        1. Use this question type to update an apparatus or equipment record via a checklist.
      2. The drop down menu displayed will filter based on the asset type. Field update questions are not available for Kits or Stations.


 
    1. For bulk checks, each item will operate independently.
 
    1. Manage FEMA cost codes
      1. New section within Assets Setup: FEMA Cost Codes
      2. Three new permissions associated with managing cost codes: Read, Edit, Archive.
 
  1. Enhancements:
    1. Users now can remove users from an active check to complete it
      1. The user can select the “Eyeball” located next to the “Joined Users” in the header.
      2. This will pop open a menu that displays the active users in the check.
      3. A small blue dot will be displayed next to that user’s name.
        1. This allows users to remove duplicates of themselves.
 
    1. New view format for Kit and Equipment Checks
      1. Reformatted view more clearly displays equipment and kit names within the left side overview menu.
 
    1. Duplicate Apparatus Names allowed to accommodate Aiding Apparatus
      1. Users can now create/edit an apparatus with the same name (e.g. Engine 1) if ONE is from the owner department and the other is from an aiding department.
      2. Duplicates are not allowed with both apparatus have the same owner department.
      3. To create to apparatus with the same, ensure the "owner type" is set to "Aiding" for any apparatus not owned by the user's department.
    1. Minimum Value for "Hose Length" fields has changed.
      1. Minimum value accepted is now 1ft.
    1. Additional SCBA specific fields 
      1. The following fields were added to Equipment type -> SCBA -> Specifications:
        1. Regulator Serial Number
        2. Pressure Gauge Display Number
        3. Reducer Serial Number
        4. Regulator Flow Test Date
      2. All fields added to Ad-hoc reporting and as a "show column" option within the equipment list.

Fire Prevention Module


  1. New Features:
    1. Send an Inspection Report with linked invoices and permits
      1. When emailing an inspection, use the "Include Linked Reports" button to attach linked invoices and permits. By default, all linked invoices and permits will be included.
 
    1. Users can also choose which linked invoices or permits to attach to an inspection report. Use the expand button to view and select each linked item.
 
    1. Edit contact information after inspection is completed
      1. Associated with the "Contacts - Edit Contact After Complete Inspection" Permission
      2. Once user saves contact, information is updated within the inspection.
      3. What happens with the pre-plans and how this update affects other inspections?
        • If the pre-plan associated with the inspection is not the currently published pre-plan: Information is updated within the pre-plan and will remain unpublished. This will update that contact for all the inspections, permits, or invoices that are using that pre-plan instance.
        • If the pre-plan associated with the inspection is the currently published pre-plan: a pre-plan with the updated information is published and if there is any other inspection that was using that pre-plan, update the inspection to use the new pre-plan information.
 
    1. Flag locations as "Not Shared"
      1. Allows departments to save information on buildings inside or outside of their jurisdiction that is not visible to departments with whom data sharing is on.
 

 
 
    1. Choose which associated code(s) will display on the inspection report
      1. New permission to control who can edit a code description: Fire Inspection - Edit Code Description (Fire Prevention Bucket).
      2. While completing an inspection checklist, users can edit the associated code items using the pencil icon.
        1. This applies to checklist items with one or more codes associated.
  

  
    1. Bulk Email completed inspections from Inspections List & My Inspections
      1. User can bulk email completed inspection reports from either list.
      2. Inspection Reports will be emailed to the inspection contact for each occupancy plus any additional contact marked to receive the email report.
      3. New Permission: Bulk Email Completed Inspections (Fire Prevention Bucket).
      4. The Print button has been moved to a "Bulk Actions" section alongside the new "Send Email" function.

      1. Users will receieve a warning message if selected inspections do not have an email on file. The user can also select to include linked reports in the emails.

  1. Enhancements:
    1. Managing the "is inspectable"  field has been moved to Admin -> Field Management. The user can change permissions by role.
   

    1. Ability to backdate inspection date
      1. While conducting an inspection, users can set a prior date and time for the "scheduled at" field with the permission "Inspection- backdate".
 
    1. Violations Table: New Filter Added
      1. New filter and column for "Address Status" which will display active or inactive depending on the status as defined in the occupancy record.

    1. Province and Postal Code added for Canadian Accounts.

Incident Documentation Module 


  1. New Features:
    1. Select from the Personnel List when documenting an injured firefighter
      1. When the "injured FF" toggle is selected in Sizeup -> People Involved, a search button will appear allowing the user to pull information directly from the Personnel List.
      1. Free text information entry is still available in the event the injured firefighter is a member of an aiding department.
  
    1. Add description to NFIRS report attachments.
      1. New option available to add a description to each attachment to an NFIRS report. Clicking on the pencil icon displays a view where the user can navigate between attachments and add/edit/view descriptions.
 
 


  1. Enhancements:
    1. Save Data prompt when attempting to leave an NFIRS Report.

    1. "Station" was added as both a filter and a column within the Fire Incident list.
                               
    1. EMS disposition field added to field management. 
      1. Users now have the ability to require "EMS disposition" be answered per incident type and add custom codes.

  1. New Features:
    1. Indicators for workflow types applied within EMS workflows.
      1. Easier recognition of which workflows are applied to which fields.
 
    1. Ability to change the display value of NEMSIS descriptions.
      1. New column "display description" in field customization.
      2. When added, the description added is what will be visible in the EMS report being filled out by the provider.
      3. NEMSIS description column changed to "original discription".
 
 


  1. Enhancements:
    1. National validation and Workflow validation run simultaneously when provider clicks the "complete" button
    2. Save the entire record when saving a grid item
      1. Any time a save occurs on any form ( crew members, apparatus, vitals) the entire record is saved immediately.
      2. This is designed to prevent data loss from unexpected or unintentional closing of browsers.
    3. Arrest fields added to Printed Report
 
    1. Dosage and Route added to printed report for any medications administered.
  
    1. External Report section added to printed report.
 
    1. Association between Billing Status and Form Options removed
      1. All fields in Billing Section will be visible regardless of the Billing Status selected.
 
 
    1. EMS Incident List: Primary Impression and Unit/Call sign added as columns and filters
 

    1. Auto Calculate Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) within vital signs
  

    1. eDisptch.01 field added to field customization
      1. Departments can use this field to assign custom displays/values to the "complaint reported by dispatch" field.
 



Personnel Module


  1. New Features:
    1. User defined Time Off Logic
      1. For departments that have shifts of different lengths (eg. 10/14 hr shifts or admin).
      2. Example: 10 or 14 hour shift request will both deduct 12 hours from the leave balance.
 
 

    1. Add Notes to the Shiftboard (events tab)
      1. One note per day.
      2. Permission to view events tab and see the note: Scheduling - View Activities.
      3. Permission to add, edit, or delete a note: Scheduling - Shift Board - Edit Notes.
      4. Notes can be helpful for managers or supervisors from previous shifts to pass along messages that may impact staffing on a future date. Example: "Bob Smith said he may have to call off sick if he can't find a babysitter" or "We need a preceptor on Medic 1 today for a paramedic student".


 

  1. Enhancements:
    1. Color categories for call shifts.
    2. Status column moved to 3rd position for easier use on smaller screens.


    1. Accrue time off in fractional shift increments.
      1. In Setup -> Accruals when setting up accrual rules, admins can use up to two decimal places in the "Accrues" and "Accruals max shifts" fields.
      2. The fractional rule only applies to accruing time off. If using "shift" as the unit, time off can still only be requested & approved in whole shift increments.  
    1. New Permissions Added. These new permissions allow the ability to manage (show/hide) time off and off roster independently.

Training Module


  1. New Features:
    1. Partially Complete a Class by Individual Objectives
      1. When a class is created, the creator can specify whether all objectives must be completed simultaneously or enable partial completion tracking by each individual objective.
    2. Training Class Self Completion
      1. When a class is created, the creator can specify whether the attendees are allowed to self-complete the training from their training dashboard.

      1. Users can now add attachments to Class Templates. Files Attached to Templates will be included when a new class is created using the template.
