New Features
1. Overdue Medication Count Notifications
To help ensure medication accountability and compliance, the system now proactively alerts designated personnel when medication counts are past due.
What’s New?
A new Overdue Count notification system has been added to alert users and teams when scheduled medication counts are not completed on time.
How It Works
A new toggle labeled Overdue Medication Counts has been added in Setup.
When enabled, a new field appears: Report to Users/Teams.
Use this field to specify which users or teams should receive overdue count alerts.
The system checks every 30 minutes for new overdue medication counts.
Email notifications are sent only if new overdue counts are detected in that interval.
If no new overdue counts are found, no email is generated.
A daily summary email is sent at 5:00 AM UTC (1:00 AM New York time).
This notification is always sent if any overdue counts exist in the system at that time.
Benefits
Ensures timely accountability for medication tracking
Helps supervisors stay informed of missed or overdue counts
Minimizes notification fatigue by only sending updates when needed
Enhancements
1. Full-Page Receive and Remove Workflow with Attachment Support
To improve usability and expand functionality, the Receive/Remove process for medication kits and supplies has been updated.
What’s Changed?
The Receive/Remove modal has been converted into a full-page view for better visibility and ease of use.
This change applies to both:
Medication Kits
Medication Supply
New: Attachments in Receive/Remove
You can now add attachments (e.g., packing slips, photos) during the receive/removal process.
This allows for better documentation and audit readiness.
Benefits
More space to view and manage receive/remove details
Easier to upload and review supporting documents
Streamlined workflow for receiving/removing medications
2. Duplicate Serial Number Highlighting During Medication Receiving
To prevent errors and ensure data integrity, the system now includes real-time duplicate serial number validation during the medication receiving process.
What’s New?
The system actively checks for duplicate serial numbers across multiple scenarios and alerts the user accordingly.
How It Works
Existing Serial Number in the Database
When entering a serial number already in the system, a warning message is displayed immediately.
Duplicate Entry in the Same Receive Form
If the same serial number is entered more than once in the same "Receive" form, the system highlights the duplicate and shows an alert.
Real-Time Concurrency Handling
If User A enters a serial number but hasn't saved it, and User B completes a receive process with the same serial number:
When User A attempts to save, the system blocks the save and displays an error message.
Case-Insensitive Validation
Serial numbers are not case-sensitive. For example, ABC123 and abc123 are treated as duplicates.
Benefits
Reduces risk of inventory errors due to duplicate serial numbers
Enhances real-time awareness during multi-user operations
Supports consistent and clean serial number data
3. Alphanumeric Sorting for Med Kits & Serial Numbers
To improve accuracy and ease of use, alphanumeric sorting has been implemented for both Med Kits and serial number selections in the transfer process.
What’s New?
Med Kits List
Med Kits are now sorted alphanumerically in dropdowns and selection lists.
This helps users quickly find the correct kit and reduces the chance of selecting the wrong one.
Serial Numbers in Transfer Medications
The serial number dropdown in the Transfer Medications modal is now sorted alphanumerically.
Makes it easier to locate specific serial numbers, especially in large inventories.
Benefits
Reduces user error by presenting items in a predictable, logical order
Speeds up selection in high-volume environments
Enhances consistency across dropdowns and modal interfaces
4. New Medications Added to Medication List
The following medications have been added to the Medication List and are now available for inventory management, receiving, and tracking.
Newly Added Medications
Calcium Gluconate
Potassium Iodide
Clopidogrel
How It Works
These medications can now be:
Received into inventory
Assigned to Med Kits or Med Supply
Tracked and audited like existing medications
No additional setup is required—these medications are immediately available in relevant dropdowns and forms.
