Release Notes - Incident Documentation - NFIRS

Info
In order to provide you with more detailed information on our updates we have broken the Release Note down by module.

New Features

1. The ability to surface hidden fields for Fire Incidents.

  1. We allow to display hidden NFIRS fields that are tied to base codes. They will always be enabled for Canada.
    1. This will not include hidden workflow because this type of workflow is not implemented yet.

    2. Allow to set an initial default value without a condition.

    3. This initial value will apply for the new records, not for the edition of the old ones.

    4. If this initial value is manually changed, it won’t take the initial value anymore.

    5. The default value was removed from the Field Management and those fields with this configuration were moved to workflows with an initial default value.

  2. Set an initial default value through the Fire Incident Setup > Workflows without tying them to a condition.

2. The ability to create import options and templates for csv files for the import wizard.

InfoThis import option only shows for clients who have the manage-Import-Wizard permission(s) enabled, so that clients who do not have fire documentation will not see this import option.

  1. From the Admin module, you can access the Import Wizard option.
  2. Next, you select the Incident Report option, which displays the upload form to import the CSV file. During the process, the structure of the CSV is verified and then the fields are mapped between the FirstDue database and the file provided.
  3. Once the mapping is complete, you will proceed with the import by pressing the Next button. During this step, the fields are validated and a summary is displayed with the number of records imported correctly and those that presented errors (as shown in the attached image).
  4. In case of errors, it is possible to download the rows with errors using the Download button to review them.
  5. After completing the import, the incidents imported correctly will be displayed in the "incomplete" status within the Fire Incident Documentation listing.

Enhancements

1. Next Generation UI for Fire Incident Documentation.

  1. Deployment of a new user interface (UI) design optimized to improve the user experience.
  2. This new design ensures usability, compatibility and responsiveness on different screen sizes (desktop, tablet, and mobile).
  3. For more information see this article: First Due's Next Generation Fire Documentation
  4. The next generation UI will be accessed when either beginning or editing a fire report from the Fire Incident List.
