Release Notes - Incident Documentation - ePCR
In order to provide you with more detailed information on our updates we have broken the Release Notes down by module.
New Features
Feature Enhancements
1. [EMS Setup] [Field Customization]- Add (Procedures/Medications/Protocols) to Default Value per Section upon Export.
This update simplifies compliance and customization for all clients, eliminating the need for individual workflows per state or department.
We’ve expanded our field customization options to make it easier for clients to configure how blank fields are handled in their exports.
Now, in addition to the Vitals section, clients can choose the Not Value (e.g., Not Recorded, Not Applicable) to export for empty fields in these sections:
Procedures (Treatments)
Medications
Protocols
Montana clients will have these settings defaulted to Not Applicable to meet state-specific requirements.
For other clients, the default remains Not Recorded, ensuring continuity with previous workflows, but they can change it to the one they prefer.
2. [QA/QI] - Add a few tracking milestones to QA/QI module (Assigned, last activity).
We're making it possible to monitor key milestones and gain valuable insights into how long the process takes from start to finish.
We’ve added three new timestamps to track critical steps in the QA/QI process:
QA/QI Started
Records the date/time when the QA review was first initiated (e.g., first saved or requested for review).
Provides insight into when the QA process begins.
QA/QI Last Modified
Tracks the most recent activity on the QA review (e.g., latest comment or save during the process).
Continuously updates to reflect the latest actions.
QA/QI Approved
Logs the completion time for approved QA reviews.
Updates with the latest timestamp if approvals are done multiple times.
These timestamps, now visible as regular columns on the QA List page, empower teams to:
Measure how long reviews take.
Monitor response times from crew members.
Improve transparency and efficiency in the QA/QI workflow.
We're making documentation even faster and more efficient!
A "Same as Patient Address" button has been added to the Emergency Contact section.
This button, placed just above the Address Line 1 field, allows you to quickly copy the patient’s address from the Patient Demographic section into the Emergency Contact entry.
- Why This Matters:
- Speed up workflow and eliminate repetitive data entry, ensuring accurate and consistent information in the reports.
We're introducing a new enhancement to improve tracking and usability for Rapid Intervention Tools (RITs)!
What's New:
Each RIT button will now display a tally of how many times it has been clicked and saved.
Edits to individual components of a RIT (e.g., vitals or procedures) will adjust the tally dynamically to reflect accurate usage.
Deleting or unlinking RIT entries will reduce the count automatically.
We’re improving the RIT tools in ePCR to better align with existing documentation workflows. By extending the date/time setting found in EMS Setup > General, we’re ensuring a faster and more consistent experience when documenting during patient encounters.
What's Changing?
The RIT tools will now leverage the default date/time values from your settings:
Options available: Arrived at Patient, Current Time, or Unit Notified by Dispatch.
These settings will populate the RIT Date/Times automatically for quicker data entry.
Key Details:
Default date/time values apply based on your settings, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows.
How it Works:
For Shared Fields configured as date/time, the default value will populate directly.
For Separate Fields (e.g., eMedications.01, eProcedures.01, etc.), the default date/time will apply individually to each.
6. [Workflows/Field Management] - NEMSIS Section.
We’ve streamlined the setup and troubleshooting process for customers who customize field labels. By introducing NEMSIS Data Element Identifiers directly into Field Customization and Workflows, it’s now easier than ever to track and manage changes across the system.
What's New
NEMSIS Section Column Added:
A new column displays the NEMSIS Data Element Identifier for each field.
Examples:
Assessment | Injury | Cause of Injury → eInjury.01
Assessment | Assessment | Assessments Group → eExam.AssessmentGroup (Parent identifier when no direct match exists).
Filter by NEMSIS Section:
A new filter option allows users to sort and search fields by their corresponding NEMSIS section, simplifying navigation and customization.
7. [Pulsara] - Images should go to general Attachments and EKGs should go do the Device section.
We’re enhancing the accuracy of how images imported from the Pulsara app are categorized in the ePCR system.
What’s Changing?
Images Section Mapping:
Non-EKG images from the Pulsara app will now be added to the Attachments section instead of the Device section.
These images will default to the "4509021-Other Picture/Graphic" External Electronic Document Type upon import.
EKG Images Stay Unchanged:
Any EKG images will continue to be imported into the Device section as before, ensuring consistency.
Why This Matters:
This update ensures a clear distinction between general images and EKG-specific data, improving organization and usability for clients.
To better support high-volume departments with extensive daily calls, we’re enhancing our Pulsara integration to include EMS Unit information.
What’s New
New EMS Unit Column:
The "EMS Unit" column will now appear between ID and Name on the Pulsara grid.
New column order: ID, EMS Unit, Name, Age, Gender, Created At
Filter Enhancements:
EMS Unit Filter: Added to the filter slide-out for easier searches.
New Filter Order:
Search Period, EMS Unit, Name, Age, Gender
Name and Age Filters Updated:
Name: Now a free-text "Contains" filter to search by first or last name.
Age: A numeric "Contains" filter for precise searches.
Import Details:
Note: EMS Unit data will not be imported at this time, focusing only on integration visibility.
9. [NEMSIS 3.5.0] - Update for Glucometer Readings in NEMSIS 3.5.0
In NEMSIS 3.3.4 and 3.4.0, glucometer readings were often pre-populated with "High" or "Low" values, as those were common outputs from the devices. With the release of NEMSIS 3.5.0, the format has changed to allow "High" or "Low" as valid text entries.
What’s Changing:
The glucometer field will now allow "High" or "Low" as valid entries, as per the new NEMSIS 3.5.0 standards.
The previous default values of 600 or 20 will no longer appear automatically.
The UI will be updated to grey out these fields and prevent manual entry of numbers, ensuring that "High" or "Low" can be correctly exported in compliance with NEMSIS 3.5.0.
10. [Audit Log] -Add Incident and Record Number to Header of Log
What's Changing:
To enhance clarity, the Incident Number (eResponse.03) and Patient Care Record Number (eRecord.01) will now be displayed in the header of the Audit Log. This update will make it easier to confirm you're reviewing the correct incident log.
Two new Incident Types, 554 and 622, have been added to the NFIRS Short Form. These types represent relatively invalid/canceled incidents that require only the minimum fields, similar to existing types.
What's Changing:
Incident Type 554
Incident Type 622
These Incident Types will appear in the NFIRS Short Form within the EMS/ePCR module, listed according to the default sort order. No other aspects of the form will be impacted.
12. [Custom Value] - Increase Code length to 100 characters.
13. [Field Customization] - Add eOther.09 External Electronic Document Type to field customization.
14. [Kno2] [Treatment] - Connector task (this is the initial task of the [Kno2 Treatment Query] epic)
Fixes
[Offline] - Fix incorrect behaviors with Offline functionality.
