Release Notes - Incident Documentation - ePCR

Info
In order to provide you with more detailed information on our updates we have broken the Release Notes down by module.

New Features

1.  Suspend all Hide workflows.

What: A new feature that allows authorized users to temporarily suspend all Hide workflows when completing an ePCR.
Why: This feature ensures that required fields hidden due to workflow rules can be easily identified and resolved without extensive debugging.
How:  A Disable Hide Rules toggle will turn on or off the hide rules in the menu bar.  Fields will remain visible for the duration of the session unless you close, refresh or selecting the toggle again which will appear Enable Hide Rules.  Users must have the ePCR - Disable Hide Rules permission enabled for their role to have the toggle appear within the ePCR.

Feature Enhancements

1. Displaying required fields/workflows in NFIRS Short Form.

What:  An enhancement for when completing a NFIRS Short Form required fields from workflows in addition to those required by Field Management set in the Fire Incident Setup will be visible.
Why:  To give the ability to complete all required fields within the Short Form without having to switch to the full Fire form.
How:  If a field is required based on workflow conditions, it will appear dynamically once the dependent field is answered.  Workflow-required fields will be displayed at the end of the form under "Other Required Custom Fields."

2. The ability to Consume Incident Number or Response Number from CAD/NFIRS Notification data.

What:  This enhancement introduces flexible configuration options for EMS agencies regarding how Incident and Response Numbers are populated. Agencies can now define whether these numbers should come from CAD, NFIRS, or internal configurations, allowing for greater customization to meet operational needs.
Why: This enhancement ensures that EMS agencies can tailor their Incident and Response Number assignment to match their operational workflows.
How: From the EMS Setup within the General section there is an Auto Number Setup subsection.
  1. For those with the permissions will navigate to the EMS Setup to enable or disable Auto Incident and Auto Response Number settings.
  2. Depending on the configuration, the system pulls Incident and Response Numbers from the appropriate source.
  3. If no settings are enabled, the default behavior (CAD/NFIRS) is maintained.
  4. Users will see hover help descriptions explaining number assignment rules.

3.  Agency Based Name Formatting.

What:  This enhancement introduces the use of a Secondary Identifier for names along with the Suffix field for format consistently across the application, including ePCR reports.
Why: This enhancement ensures standardized name formatting across the platform, improving data clarity and uniformity for all agencies.
How: Administrators define the name format preference in the Agency Setup within the Admin module. The system applies the configured format across the application.

4. A visual flagging for Medications entered offline.

What:  A clear guidance, validation messaging, and flagging mechanisms will be implemented to drive users to correct any missing or invalid medication codes before completing a report.
Why: This enhancement improves the handling of medications entered while offline, ensuring users correctly update the RXNorm code when back online.
How: When users enter medications offline the system will flag these entries with a yellow highlight or a tooltip guidance. When syncing online, validation ensures medications have correct RXNorm codes. Validation prevents submission of invalid codes. Each affected medication row will be flagged for correction when an invalid or missing RXNorm code exist.

5. Prevent Auto Fill when Importing Handtevy cases.

What:  This enhancement prevents auto filling of "Not" values, allows partial saving of incomplete records and encourage providers to review and complete missing fields manually.
Why:  This enhancement prevents incorrect data assumptions, ensuring providers have accurate, editable records while maintaining data integrity.
How:  When Handtevy cases are imported into the ePCR fields that are blank in the XML will remain null instead of "Not Recorded" or "Not Applicable".  Providers will manually review and complete missing data after the import.

6.  Importing 3 Lead EKG's from Zoll.

What:  This enhancement for the Zoll EKG connector expands the range of 3-lead EKG images available for import.
Why:  This enhancement ensures that all relevant EKG strips linked to captured vitals are exposed for selection while maintaining the Snapshot import functionality and improves data availability for providers.
How:  Zoll API data is pulled into the system allowing for all available EKG images associated with vitals are retrieved so that users can select from a wider range of images when attaching EKG strips to reports.

7. Always Display NEMSIS Codes in Setup.

What: This enhancement ensures that NEMSIS codes are always visible in the Master Value list during setup.
Why:  Eliminates the need for external resources, you will no longer need to open the NEMSIS Data Dictionary separately to verify codes.
How:  When adding Custom Values during EMS Setup each custom value is displayed with its corresponding NEMSIS code.

8. Disabled custom elements will no longer appear in new reports.

What:  This enhancement addresses the behavior of inactive custom fields or groups in the ePCR. Previously, if a custom field or group was disabled, it would appear in the report after being saved as incomplete.
Why:  This enhancement ensures consistency with other similar features, where disabled custom elements will not appear in new reports but will remain visible in reports already in progress.
How:  When a custom field or group is disabled from the EMS Setup>Custom Elements, it will no longer show up in new reports after being saved as incomplete.

9. Print Report Improvements

What:  The printed report has four areas enhanced:  Height of Fall Value, Correct Label for Pre-Arrival Alert Activation, Addition of Practitioner and Vaccination Fields and Crew Member Names Stay Visible.
Why: This feature update focuses on enhancing the print functionality in the ePCR system, ensuring that all documented values are properly displayed in the printed report, and expanding the report options to include important patient data fields.
How:
Height of Fall - When documenting Height of Fall as 0 in the ePCR, it will now be displayed correctly in the printed report.

Labeling for Activation Alerts - If a Hospital Team Activation or other alert is documented, the report label will read Destination Team Pre-Arrival Alert or Activation instead of Trauma Activation.

Practitioner and Vaccination Information - In the Patient History section of the report the Practitioner fields will populate the providers first, last and middle name/initial along with type of immunization, year of immunization.

Crew Member names in Reports- Crew names will no longer disappear after signing and names will be displayed according to agency-defined name order.

10.  Workflow Improvements

What:  Workflows can now be created (Hide, Default, Error, Warning) for the Closest Relative Guardian Address 2 field and Error, Hide workflows can be created for Destination Address fields (eDispostion.03-eDispostion.08).
Why:  This enhancement gives flexibility and performance of workflows by adding new configuration options, expanding workflow capabilities for destination fields.
How:  Navigate to EMS Setup > Workflows add a workflow-
For Closest Relative Guardian Address 2  configure Hide, Default,  Error or Warning.

For any of the Destination Address fields configure an Error or Warning.

11. Audit History Export Entry Correction

What:  This enhancement allows for more accurate status updates in the audit history and a clearer export attempt tracking.
Why:  This update improves the accuracy of audit history entries related to ePCR export records by removing misleading "with error" messages and replacing them with appropriate status updates.
How: When an ePCR export has been triggered the audit history log will place the event in a Pending status, once exported it will display the status updates in the audit history log along with a audit history tracking. Status updates are: Pending, Success, Failed and Does Not Meet Criteria. The Export Summary will only display distinct records, while the audit log will show all export attempts.

12.  Zoll import interpretation from .zol file and insert into field in the ePCR.

What:  An enhancement to Zoll integration by importing ECG interpretation data directly into the ePCR system and will be mapped to the eDevice.08 - Medical Device ECG Interpretation field.
Why:  This enhancement allows providers to have access to more comprehensive ECG interpretation data for documentation accuracy.
How:  When importing a Zoll file the system reads the file and extracts the data then inserts the formatted interpretation into eDevice.08 - Medical Device ECG Interpretation.
