Release Notes - February 2022

Mobile App (iOS) Release 4.6.6 


New Control for Dispatch Element Zoom Level (iPhone & iPad)
  1. You are now able to set the zoom level for the dispatch element. In the First Due app, navigate to User Preferences > Zoom Level Settings. You can then drag and drop the Dispatch Element icon (circled below) to any zoom level. 



Mobile App Fire Prevention Enhancements (iPad Only)
  1. New "Show Overdue" filter now available for Fire Inspections.





  2. Enhanced address filter. Now, when entering an address number or street name, the results will be automatically displayed and updated as you type more characters.



Mobile App (Android) Release 5.4.9 

Status Button Update
  1. Status button within the First Due mobile app now display any status button customization made in Response > Setup > Responder Status.

Sticky Filters
  1. Now, for the following tables when a user selects one or more filters and leaves the page without selecting "Reset", the selected filter(s) will remain in force and the results updated when the page is revisited regardless of the device or browser used.

    1. Dispatch List 
    2. Incident List 
    3. Inspection List 
    4. Inspection Organizer 
    5. Invoice List 
    6. My Inspection
    7. Permit List 
    8. Preplan Organizer


Assets Module


Big News! The System Now Allow Duplicate Equipment Names
  1. The system now allows for duplicate equipment names (e.g. SCBA Cylinder). ALL EQUIPMENT IDs must be unique as before. This will make importing equipment much easier.





New "Submitted by" Default for Work Orders
  1. Now, the default selection for "Submitted by" on any work order (Assets > Work Order > New Work Order) is the user logged in requesting the work order. However, it can be easily changed if needed.






Apparatus Name Added to Equipment Assigned to a Compartment
  1. Now, for any piece of equipment assigned to a compartment, you will now see the apparatus name immediate displayed with the compartment (Assets > Equipment List > Select a piece of equipment). Previously, it only displayed within the dropdown when selecting the compartment.






New Filter by "Inventory Group" for the Inventory List
  1. Added a new filter "Inventory Group" for the Inventory List (Assets > Inventory List).






MIN Value Now Displayed in Compartments on Checklists
  1. The MIN value is now displayed for inventory in compartments on checklists (Assets > Apparatus Checks > Start Check).





New Notification Alert for Expiring Items
  1. Our team added a new notification for the Assets module for expiring items (Assets > Setup > Notifications). You are able to set up to three notifications to receive alerts prior to the date of an expiring item.




Organize Asset Groups
  1. The organization of Apparatus, Equipment and Inventory Groups is now managed in Assets > Setup > Apparatus Groups OR Equipment Groups OR Inventory Groups. Here you can edit the group name and drag and drop to change the sort order for groups as they appear in other parts of the Assets module.




Improved Edit View for Apparatus & Equipment
  1. When editing an apparatus or equipment, the page layout has been improved and now includes all the sections found on the asset's main page (Apparatus List or Equipment List > Edit Apparatus or Equipment).




Apparatus Specifications Tab Details
  1. On the apparatus Specifications tab (Assets > Apparatus List > Edit an Apparatus > Specifications), there are now unique fields based on the NFIRS apparatus type selected in the Apparatus Information tab. The two examples below show an "ALS Unit" and an "Engine".








Events Module


New Calendar View in Events
  1. Now in Events > Activities, you can select a calendar view in addition to the list view. You may edit an item on the calendar by selecting the item, then selecting the icon. Additionally, by selecting a blank (white) area within a day, you can add a new event directly from the calendar.






Incident Documentation


Review NFIRS Export File
  1. Now, you can review an NFIRS export file before submitting it your state or FEMA. From Incident Documentation > Incident List check multiple boxes in the leftmost column to select incidents. You can apply multiple filters, but "Authorized" must be selected for the Status filter. Next, select the Export button. You will be prompted to Send the file to your default recipient or add/delete recipients. 






New Controls for Deleting Incidents
  1. Local admins can now better manage deleted incidents. In Incident Documentation > NFIRS Setup the following setting determines how long deleted incident remain in the Deleted Incidents table until it is permanently deleted:




  1. Deleted incidents are viewed/recovered via Incident Documentation > Deleted Fire Incidents. To recover (put the incident back in the Incident List) simply select the recover button.




  2. Lastly, in order to delete/manage incidents, a user will need one or more of the following permissions:




Aiding Apparatus Details
  1. The NFIRS "Use" Type can now be entered for aiding apparatus (Assets > Apparatus List > Select an Aiding Apparatus).





Additional Enhancements to the Incident Documentation Module
  1. "Shift" will now auto populate the incident report. It will auto populate based on the report writer's shift in their personnel record.
  2. "Station" will now auto populate the incident report if the agency has only one station.





Field Customization
  1. Agencies can now customize NFIRS fields AND add "Plus 1" codes directly within the system (Incident Documentation > Field Customization > New Custom Field).
    1. Edit existing descriptions OR
    2. Add a Custom Option to create a "Plus 1" code









Inspections Module


Sticky Filters
  1. Now, when a user selects one or more filters on the Inspections List OR My Inspections in the Inspections module and leaves the page without selecting "Reset", the selected filter(s) will remain in force and the results updated when the page is revisited regardless of the device or browser used. "Sticky Filters" are coming soon to even more tables in the system...stay tuned! (Inspections > Inspections List OR My Inspections).






Occupancy Record


Bulk Print Occupancy Data
  1. Data for multiple occupancies can now be bulk printed. Occupancy records can be accessed via one of two ways: Pre-Planning > Pre-Plan Organizer OR Inspections > Inspection Organizer. To bulk print, check multiple boxes in the leftmost column, then select Print. You will be then be prompted to select the data elements you wish to print. Select Print and the system will generate a PDF for viewing/printing.






Scheduling Module


Scheduling Reports
  1. Now, all Scheduling Reports (Reports > Scheduling) will have the multi-select dropdowns for users, assignments and others.




Trade Request Approval
  1. Trades can now be routed for approval (Personnel > Setup > Trade Approval Routing). As an agency you can 1) Let the use decide who approves the trade, 2) Allow the user to notify a specific person on-duty based on rank and/or assignment, or 3) Not require a trade approval.





Kelly Days Feature
  1. When selecting or editing a user on a rotation in the Shift Board (Personnel > Shift Board > Select a Person) you can now apply Kelly Days for an individual. Simply move the Kelly Day slider to the "on" position and enter data in the three fields that appear.





Shift Board "Hover to Discover"
  1. Now, when you hover over a person in the Shift Board 1-Day view (Personnel > Shift Board > 1 Day), the following information will appear in a popup:
    1. Work Type
    2. Subtype
    3. Rank(s)
    4. Group(s)
    5. Rotation w/end date (if applicable)






Time Format Selector
  1. The Scheduling module now has a selector for time format (Personnel > Settings > Clock Settings):
    1. Standard (12:00am; 12:00pm)
    2. 24 hour (02:00; 14:00) - with colon
    3. 24 hour military (0200; 1400) - no colon




Shift Board Filters
  1. The Shift Board (Personnel > Shift Board) now has the ability to filter assignments on all views (30 Days, 7 Days, 3 Days, 1 Day) to make management of staffing easier.
