Purpose

  1. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the Investigations section when completing a fire report.

For the Investigations section to populate within a fire report certain criteria needs to be met.


1. From the Response section the Primary Incident Type Found has to be documented within the Fire categories.


The Primary Incident Type Found within the Dispatch tab of the Response section needs to be documented within the Fire categories.



2. Now locate the Cause of Ignition field found within the Information section, Cause Determination tab.
  1. When selecting one of these 5 choices will trigger the Investigations section.
    1. Intentional
    2. Unintentional
    3. Cause under investigation
    4. Cause undetermined after investigation


Within the Cause Determination tab found in the Information section the Cause of Ignition needs to be selected.



3. Select on the Investigations section to begin documentation.

4. Begin documenting any Arson information using the dropdown or list view fields.

5. Utilize the dropdown view by selecting in the field, you can type in the search bar to filter the list or scroll through the list and select the appropriate choice.

6. Select on the list icon to bring up the field to the right of the screen, again you are able to search or select on the appropriate choice.

7. Enabling the toggle will allow you to document the arson investigation to another agency.

8. Enter any pertinent information about the referred agency.
  1. There are text fields along with dropdown/list view fields to document.

9. All dropdown/list views are single select fields.
  1. Information entered is autosaved and you are able to navigate to another section within the fire report.
