Managing Departments

Purpose

  1. To explain the steps for setting up Departments in the Admin module.

Directions

  1. Navigate to Admin > Departments.





  2. Enter your department's information into the fields shown below, then select the Save button at the bottom of the page.

    TIP: Throughout this process, we recommend selecting  Save after entering information into each section.






  3. Select the Add button in the FDID field to enter your department's FDID into the first field and select the Save button at the bottom of the page. The second field is for the name ("Alias") of the department associated with the FDID.  If your department operates under more than one FDID you can add additional FDID's by repeating this process.






  4. Fire Districts, Occupancy Zones, and Hydrant Zones are set up by the Implementation Team when applicable.  These are not customer editable lists.






  5. To enter your agency's divisions, select the Add button under List of Divisions section and enter your division names. Select the Save button at the bottom of the page.  This process can be repeated as many times as needed.






  6. To enter the Ranks that your organization uses select the Add button in the List of Ranks section.  Be sure to fill out both the Name of the Rank and the Short Code (abbreviation) to be associated with the Rank and select the  Save button at the bottom of the page .  This process can be repeated as many times as needed.





    The Short Code field has a maximum character limit of 8 characters.



  7. To enter Positions that personnel can be assigned to for scheduling select the Add button under List of Positions and select the Save button at the bottom of the page. This process can be repeated as many times as needed.





  8. To enter the Shifts your department uses select the Add button under the List of Shifts section and select the Save button at the bottom of the page.  This process can be repeated as many times as needed.





  9. Enter a description of how your shift rotation works into the How are Shifts Scheduled section.  Once you have entered the information and select the Save button at the bottom of the page.
