Importing Nemsis Licensure/Certification
Purpose Statement
- The purpose of this article is to guide users through the process of importing personnel NEMSIS Licensure/Certification data using the Import Wizard in the Admin module.
Importing personnel licensure and certification records in bulk ensures data consistency and saves time when updating or onboarding staff. This process requires the use of a CSV file and allows mapping up to 28 data fields.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Access the Import Wizard
Step 2: Select the Import Table
Step 3: Upload the CSV File
Click Browse File to upload your CSV.
If you don’t have a file ready, download the Sample Spreadsheet, enter data in the specified columns, and save as CSV.
Note: Max file size is 64 MB.
Step 4: Review File Upload
Step 5: Choose Import Type
Step 6: Map Fields
Use the dropdowns under Fields in your uploaded file to map up to 28 fields.
If using the sample spreadsheet, fields should map automatically.
Click Next after completing the field mapping.
Step 7: Import and Review Results
View the number of rows successfully imported.
If there are errors:
If all rows are correct or have been resolved, click Finish.

Always start with the sample template to ensure proper formatting.
Use descriptive names for saved import files.
Double-check data accuracy before importing.
Validate that certifications match agency requirements.

What if my file is over 64 MB?
- Split the file into smaller segments and import separately.
Why can’t I map a specific field?
- Ensure the column header in your CSV matches expected values. Use the sample spreadsheet as a reference.
How can I fix import errors?
- Download the error report after import, review the "Error" column, fix the indicated issues, and re-import the corrected file.
