First Arriving / First Due Integration

First Arriving / First Due Integration

You will need to reach out to your CS Manager to establish a First Due / First Arriving integration.

Purpose

  1. To explain the First Due data that is displayed the First Arriving dashboard.

  2. To explain how to establish the integration between First Due and First Arriving.

This article directly references this First Arriving KBA.

Background

  1. The integration between First Arriving (FA) and First Due (FD) provides real-time alerting, scheduling, and assets to your First Arriving dashboards.

  2. The integration includes the following data displayed in First Arriving's dashboard:

    1. Alerting (Incidents)
      1. Real-Time Incident Information
      2. Nature of Incident
      3. Location of Incident
      4. Units Dispatched
      5. Call Notes
      6. Turnout Timer
      7. ETA and Distance
      8. Maps which include path from station to the incident, Google Street View, and other mapping features
      9. ESRI layers via client's shared ArcGIS account (not via API)

    2. Scheduling
      1. Who is on and off duty for the current day (Shift Board)

    3. Asset and Equipment Management
      1. Apparatus
      2. Status
      3. Overdue Checklist
      4. Work Orders

Establishing the Integration(s)

Incidents Integration

  1. After purchasing First Arriving from them, the client will reach out to their First Due Client Success Manager (CSM) to request an API token or "key" (this is essential for linking incidents to First Arriving).

  2. Your First Due (FD) CSM will then request an API token directly from First Arriving (FA) at dashboards@firstarriving.com.

  3. Once the FD CSM receives the API key, they will send it over to the FD Deployment Team. The Deployment Team will set the token in the API so data can begin passing from FD to FA.

  4. When First Due's work is complete with implementing the token, your FD CSM will advise the FA Team that data should be flowing to FA.

  5. The FA Team confirms the data is flowing successfully to your agency's FA dashboard from FD.

  6. Please note that the FA Team will work directly with you if you encounter any issues with the FA dashboard. (Your FD CSM is always here to help too!)

Scheduling via API

  1. Contact your First Due Client Success Manager for details.

Scheduling Integration Via External Sharing

  1. Navigate to Personnel > Setup.

  2. Select External Sharing, then select Generate Shared Link.

  3. Once the link is generated, select OK.

  4. Send the newly generated link along with you agency name and point of contact to dashboards@firstarriving.com. As always, your FD CSM is ready to assist if needed.

RECOMMENDATION: The shared link is good for 1-year. We recommend putting a reminder in your calendar for creating a new shared link one day prior to the expiration of the current link sent to First Arriving. That way, there will be no interruption with your staffing appearing in FA.

Assets (Apparatus and Equipment)

  1. Navigate to Assets > Setup.
