Exposure List Overview

Purpose Statement

  1. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the Exposure List within the Health & Wellness module and guide users through navigation, filtering, and managing Exposure reports.
    This list supports agencies in tracking, authorizing, and managing personnel exposures in a centralized, structured way.

Background Information

The Exposure List is a centralized location for viewing and managing all documented exposure incidents within your department. It allows authorized personnel to:
  • Track exposure events by date, status, or personnel
  • Review, authorize, or close exposures
  • Customize the view using filters, column controls, and search tools
This tool is essential for ensuring compliance with occupational health protocols, incident tracking, and timely administrative follow-up.

Required Permissions

To view or manage exposure reports, the following permissions may be required depending on your role:
  • Exposures 
    • Read - Access to the Exposure List (view only)
    • Update - Ability to Edit/Complete All Exposures
    • Create - Ability to Create/Add new All Exposures
    • Delete - Ability to Delete Exposures
  • Exposures - Manage Own - Ability to Edit/Complete Exposures associated to you
  • Exposures - Mark Authorized - Ability to Authorize Exposures
  • Exposures - Mark Incomplete - Ability to change the status of an Exposure to Incomplete

Step-by-Step Guide


Step 1. Navigate to the Exposure List
  1. Go to the Health & Wellness module.
  2. Select Exposure List from the sub-navigation.


Begin by navigating to the Health & Wellness module then select on Exposure List.



Step 2. View All Exposure Reports
  1. A list of all documented Exposures will populate by default.

Step 3. Add a New Exposure
  1. Click the + Add button to begin documenting a new Exposure report.





Step 4. Filter the Exposure List
  1. Click Filter to narrow the results.


You are able to refine you Exposure list by selecting Filter.


  1. Apply one or more filters (e.g., status, exposure number, address) and click Apply.


Filter you Exposure List by one or all the Filters then select Apply.



Step 5. Selecting on Columns will allow you to customize your Exposure List grid.
  1. Click Columns to choose which fields to display.

Note: The following columns are required and cannot be removed: Exposure Number, Incident Date/Time, Address, and Status.

Step 6. Rearrange, Expand, and Sort Columns
  1. Rearrange by dragging and dropping columns.
  2. Expand by dragging the divider between column headers.
  3. Sort by clicking a column header to toggle ascending/descending order.


Columns can also be rearranged, expanded and sorted.



Step 7. Change Number of Rows Displayed
  1. Use the dropdown to set how many exposures display per page: 20, 50, or 100.


You are able to change the number of exposures to display using the dropdown then selecting 20, 50 or 100.



Step 8. Use the Search Bar
  1. Use the Search bar at the top to find specific exposure reports by keyword or number.


Utilizing the Search bar to look for a particular Exposure.



Step 9. Understand Action Icons
  1. In the Actions column, different icons appear depending on exposure status:
    1. Eye Icon: View an authorized Exposure report.


From the Actions column an eye icon indicates that Exposure is Authorized but your able to view the Exposure report.


    1. Pencil Icon: Edit an Incomplete Exposure or Authorize a Pending Exposure


The pencil icon allows you to complete an Incomplete Exposure or pending your permissions you are able to Mark an Exposure Incomplete or Authorize.


    1. With permissions enabled, Mark Incomplete or Authorize Exposures.


After selecting the pencil icon on Pending Authorization Exposures you are now able to Mark Incomplete, Authorize, or Close.


    1. History Icon: View the Records History Log for the selected Exposure.


This icon will show the Records History Log


    1. Click the History icon to open a modal showing:
      1. Event Date & Time
      2. User
      3. Type of Event
      4. Description


After selecting the History log icon a modal will display with Event Date & Time, User, Type of Event, and Description.


    1. Three Dots: Indicates a Pending Authorization status.
      1. Click to Authorize or Delete the report.


Within the Actions column you see the three dots, this indicates that the Exposure is in the Pending Authorization status.


    1. Trashcan Icon: To Delete the report.


The trashcan icon allows you to delete Exposure reports.


    1. When deleting an Exposure a confirmation modal will appear.


When deleting an exposure a warning modal will appear to confirm the deletion.



Step 10. Perform Bulk Actions
  1. Select multiple exposures to access bulk actions (e.g., Authorize, Delete) depending on current report status and your permissions.


When selecting multiple Exposures you are able to perform Bulk options, pending on the status you are able to Delete and or Authorize.



Step 11. Navigate Between Modules
  1. Click the First Due logo to open the module stack navigation.


Selecting the First Due logo will populate your module stacks.


  1. Select a new module or subsection to continue working.


Now you can navigate to any other module or sub-sections of a module.


Best Practices

  • Use filters regularly to quickly locate reports by date, personnel, or status.
  • Complete and authorize exposures in a timely manner to ensure proper compliance and tracking.
  • Use the History Log before making changes to verify report status and change history.
  • Avoid deleting authorized exposures unless absolutely necessary. 

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why can’t I see the pencil or authorize icon on a report?
A: You may not have the required permission. Contact your system administrator to verify access.

Q: Can I undo a deletion?
A: No. Once deleted, an Exposure report is permanently removed. Use caution and verify before deletion.

Q: What is the difference between Incomplete, Pending Authorization, and Authorized statuses?
A:
  • Incomplete: Report is started but not ready for review
  • Pending Authorization: Ready for review and action
  • Authorized: Finalized and view-only
