EMS Setup - Auto Number Setup

Purpose


  1. The purpose of this article is to assist you in the set up of your Auto Numbering Setup.

Directions


1. Navigate to the Incident Documentation and select EMS Setup.

2. Select on the General section within the EMS Setup.


Select on the General section within the EMS Setup.



3. Scroll down the page to find the Auto Number Setup.

There are two Auto Numbers you can setup:
  1. Auto Incident Number
  2. Auto Response Number

If neither fields are enabled then both fields will default to CAD/NFIRS data.
NOTE: If no CAD/NFIRS data then fields will remain empty if no data source is available.
If only one field is enabled and the other is not then the one enabled will use the number configuration while the one not enabled will be populated from CAD.

Auto Incident Number Setup

The Hover Help Icon"Using the Auto Incident Number will populate the Incident Number (eResponse.03) field from this configuration. If not enabled, this number will be populated by CAD/NFIRS if available."


1. By enabling this check box will generate incident numbers consecutively.

There will be a display that shows the last incident and what your next incident number will be.

2. When selecting Enable Incident Number Format you can then choose to use your Departments short code.

You can then edit the Separators fields, Year Format and the Number Length.
  1. By default the first and second separators are the blank but can be changed if needed.
  2. Year Format can be 4 digits (YYYY) or set at 2 digits (YY).
  3. Number Length has a max of 7.


When selecting Enable Incident Number Format you can then choose to use your Departments short code.

Auto Response Number Setup

The Hover Help Icon"Using the Auto Response Number will populate the EMS Response Number (eResponse.04) field from this configuration. If not enabled, this number will be populated from the CAD/NFIRS Incident Number if available."


1. By enabling this check box will generate response numbers consecutively.

Department Short Code


To edit or add your departments short code navigate to Admin > Agency Setup > General Information then enter Short Code.

Remember to select Save to update changes.
