Equipment: Creating an Equipment Group

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to create a new Equipment Group and set default fields for Equipment Type, FEMA Cost Code, and ISO Classification within same.

Instruction

1. Click on Setup from within the Assets Module…






2. Click on Equipment Groups


Click on Equipment Groups



3. Click on New Equipment Group


Click on New Equipment Group



4. Enter a Name for the Equipment Group…
Short Code and Description are Optional






Associating the fields in Steps 5-7 with the Equipment Group will set them as a standard for any equipment assigned to this group by default. Therefore, users will NOT be able to change these fields for any equipment within that item's equipment record while it is assigned to that group.  It is important to note that after removing an item from an equipment group default fields setting in the steps below will need to be removed from that item'srecord manually.


5. Choose an Equipment Type to associate for this group…






6. Select a FEMA Cost Code to associate with this group…






7. Select an ISO Classification…






8. Select which items of Equipment to associate with this Equipment Group.

9. Click on Save
